熊本もりもり!

僕は熊本学園大学の留学生だった。日本語で書いてみている、でもまだ下手だね、(これがもう見て知ってるだろう。^_^;) ごめん! I was an exchange student at Kumamoto Gakuen University, and I apologize for my horrid Japanese writing skills (or lack thereof).

What a View

Last week was Golden Week, meaning that we got Wednesday through Friday off. So we did stuff.

Wednesday, we climbed a volcano. It just so happens that Aso is the largest cauldera in the world. And semi-active. We camped overnight in a valley that was just far enough away to be out of range of the toxic morning fog. Drank and ate a lot (not easy hauling all the drinks and food up there with us, not about to lug it back down :P) and just about ran out of water the next day.

Thursday, we climbed back down. Well, the others climbed while I pretty much slid down on my bum. It was hazardous going, and I was the only one there with no mountain-climbing experience. But it was awesome. And there was the promise of an onsen waiting for us at the bottom.

Friday was spent in a recuperative trance playing World or Warcraft on Adam's computer.

Saturday, we drove up to Takumi's house way out in Minamata. Much eating, drinking, and merriment. The dog woke me up in the morning by licking my ear, which was gross and adorable all at once. Then we went to another onsen, this one a bit fancier and with a beautiful outdoor area.

Now it's back to the everyday things. I've got my schedule for next semester worked out, now I just have to concentrate on the classes I'm in right now.
